No Two People Are Alike

Each person has a different history, situation, thoughts, feelings, and reactions. Kesley utilizes several holistic approaches to develop a unique plan to help determine an individual’s path for healing, utilizing strategies, tools, and coping mechanisms to help them through to the next stage of their journey.

Kelsey works with youth and families in a totally judge-free space both in person and virtually, often incorporating a variety of psychological treatments.

2SLGBTQ+

The primary focus of Kelsey’s practice is working with youth and their families in the LGBTQ2+ community, especially helping children transitioning. Kelsey can work with individuals and their families to help them understand what’s going on and help them navigate services such as clubs, camps, and resources. Kelsey can also work with the family’s medical practitioner to coordinate a holistic plan to guide the individual down the path they want to live.

OUR METHODS

Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT) is a method of helping someone identify their thoughts, feelings, and actions and how these things can be adapted or changed. By understanding how thoughts, feelings, and actions interact together, someone can then change unhealthy patterns, using problem-solving skills to cope with difficult situations and learn to develop a greater sense of confidence in their own abilities.

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), also called Solution-Focused Brief therapy (SFBT), is useful for when someone needs to work on an individual task or challenge. Kelsey will work with the individual to focus on a short-term, goal-focused solution. This treatment method is useful to help someone generate a description of how their life will be different when the problem is improved or gone.

Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotions are not only an important part of our daily lives, but they also contribute to our identities, helping us understand who we are and share who we are with others. Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), or Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFF), can be used with individuals or families to help them recognize and respond to emotional responses. It’s a way to organize emotional responses in regards to relationships, helping someone to recognize and change their emotional response to a situation.
